UP have designed historic and environmental interpretation for the Museum of Garden Escapes and new Belvedere at Rainham Riverside. The site has a rich history, as a Thames River crossing point from the old Ferry Inn, which was replaced by heavy industries including the Murex ferroalloy foundry, before becoming Easter Industrial Park. Today’s urban wild landscape between river and industry is a valuable Open Mosaic Habitat (OMH). The interpretation describes the layers of history that create the unique landscape character of this unusual place.
