Avenham Park Pavilion in Preston narrowly avoided significant flood damage when the River Ribble burst its banks during the recent extraordinary rains. Fenella was the landscape architect for the RIBA competition winning scheme with architect Ian McChesney. The design included a sculptural landform which elevates the pavilion above the 100-year flood level. It was the only scheme to acknowledge this risk at the competition design stage.
